Joining the Server
Note: You must have Minecraft Java Edition to join!
- Start the Minecraft Launcher
- Select Minecraft: Java Edition**
- Click Play
- Click Multiplayer
- Click Add Server
- Set the Server Name to
Get Played Minecraft Server - Set the Server Address to
getplayedpod.helloplay.net - Click Done
- Select Get Played Minecraft Server
- Click Join Server
After adding the server the only steps you’ll need are:
- Start the Minecraft Launcher
- Select Minecraft: Java Edition
- Click Play
- Click Multiplayer
- Select Get Played Minecraft Server
- Click Join Server
Forge, Mods + Shaders, and Installation (Optional)
The Get Played Minecraft Java Server has a small selection of active mods that add quality of life benefits to “vanilla” Minecraft such as an extensive mini-map system and enhanced tree felling, as well as OptiFine, which allows players to enhance their in-game visuals with their choice of shader packs.
MODS and SHADERS ARE NOT NECESSARY in order to join and enjoy the Get Played Minecraft Server! In order to access the use of server mods, players will need to install Forge and the latest Get Played ModPack to their version of Minecraft.
Luckily, this process is quite simple!
Installing & Initializing Minecraft
- Download the latest version of the Minecraft Launcher for your operating system: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download
- Run the Minecraft Launcher Installer and follow instructions, launch Installer when finished.
- Choose “Minecraft: Java Edition” and select “Play” to initialize and run Minecraft.
Installing Forge
Windows
- Download the latest version of Forge
- As of 10/4/23: Ver. 1.20.2 - 48.0.13
- Run Forge Installer, then open Minecraft Launcher and select “Minecraft: Java Edition” when completed. (You should now see “Forge” as an option in the main launcher or under “Installations”.)
Mac
- Download the latest version of Forge
- As of 10/4/23: Ver. 1.20.2 - 48.0.13
Linux
- Download the latest version of Forge
- As of 10/4/23: Ver. 1.20.2 - 48.0.13
Installing Get Played ModPack
Windows
- Install Minecraft & Forge, then open Minecraft Launcher.
- Select Minecraft: Java Edition, select latest version of Forge (either under launcher or Installations), select Play.
- Open Minecraft to Main Menu, select Quit Game.
- Download the latest version of GetPlayedModPack .zip file. (10/4/23 - “1.20.2 v1”)
- Unzip content to:
C:\Users\[YOUR NAME]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft. - Open MineCraft with MineCraft Launcher + Forge. (You should now see Mods and their respective Options in your GUI.)
Mac
- Install Minecraft & Forge, then open Minecraft Launcher.
Linux
- Install Minecraft & Forge, then open Minecraft Launcher.
Note: Multiple game launches may be necessary for the mods to fully take effect. If you don’t see the ModPack’s contents in-game, try restarting.
Installing Shaders
- Download the desired shader pack and drop their respective .zip files into the destination:
C:\Users\[YOUR NAME]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft/shaderpacks - Open Minecraft Launcher and open Minecraft with the latest version of Forge. You should now have access to your shaders!
NOTE: You can also reach this folder by following this path in-game: Main Menu > Options > Video Settings > Shaders > Shaders Folder
