Mission Statement

At Battle Buddies, our mission is to save the lives of both America’s heroes and man’s best friend by creating life-changing partnerships between rescued dogs and veterans or first responders living with disabilities, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

We rescue dogs from shelters and rescue organizations throughout the region, providing them with a second chance at life while helping veterans and first responders find loyal companionship, purpose, and support. Through professional training and guidance, we work to develop these rescued dogs into service dogs capable of assisting their handlers with the challenges associated with physical and invisible disabilities.

Our program is provided free of charge to the veterans and first responders we serve because we believe those who have sacrificed for their communities and country should never face barriers to receiving the support they deserve.

When a rescued dog is not matched with a veteran or first responder, the dog is made available for public adoption. Adoption fees are reinvested directly into our mission, allowing us to rescue, train, and place more dogs with those in need.

Battle Buddies is built on the belief that the bond between a dog and a hero can be transformative. By giving homeless dogs a purpose and providing our nation’s heroes with unwavering companionship and support, we strive to improve lives, strengthen communities, and create hope for our Heroes & Hounds.
